Understanding Spagyric Tinctures & Spagyria
Welcome! Dive into the magical world of Spagyria with this easy-to-understand explanation below. We hope you take a moment to explore Spagyria, a practice deeply rooted in our past that promises to significantly influence the future of health and wellness.
What is Spagyria?
Spagyria is a form of Western Pharmacopoeia that originated in the early 1500's through a brilliant dude named Paracelsus. Never heard of him? Don't worry, many haven't. Philippus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim, otherwise known as Paracelsus, was a physician, alchemist, lay theologian, and philosopher of the German Renaissance, who created the medicinal path of Alchemy, coining the term: Spagyria.
Spagyria was the first Western Pharmacopoeia we know of that used iatrochemistry, which is the basis of modern Pharmaceutical Medicine today. All modern-day pharmaceuticals & even chemistry itself were born out of Spagyric Technology.
What are Spagyrics?
A word to classify the various types of remedial pharmacopoeia within the over-arching methodology of Spagyria. For example we have: Spagyric Elixirs, Spagyric Essences, Spagyric Tinctures, Spagyric Clyssi, Spagyric Stones, and SO much more. It is ALWAYS important to specify WHAT type of a spagyric you are talking about. Many people assume Spagyrics simply means = Standard Spagyric Tincture, when it could actually be referring to any of the 50+ items of pharmacopoeia within Spagyria.
What is the difference between Alchemy & Spagyria?
Alchemy is a pre-requisite for Spagyria.
Spagyria is the REMEDIAL application of Alchemy.
There are many pathways to work with Alchemy, perhaps the most [in]famous being the industrial/mineral pathway; turning lead into gold. Yet you can apply the same Alchemical process of transformation to work with herbal, mineral, and animal materials for medicine and in doing so, you have essentially stumbled upon the magical world of Spagyria. So by that token, anything made Alchemically that has remedial virtue is included in the Pharmacopoeia of Spagyric Medicine.
What causes Spagyria and Alchemy to differ is purely the attitude and approach of the Work: Spagyria produces substances purely for their Remedial or Medicinal values, whereas Alchemy is an initiatic practice of Stewardship and Mastery of Nature.

What is a Spagyric Tincture?
The item we have the most of in our apothecary are Standard Spagyric Tinctures. These nifty potions are essentially a MUCH more potent version of its herbal tincture counterpart. What makes Spagyric Tinctures unique are the "plant salts" that get added back into the tincture base in order to create a natural iatrochemical reaction between the potassium carbonate in the "salt" and the organic acids in the tincture. This enables the spagyric tincture to contain unique plant esters and provide potassium-based electrolytes that are far different and more potent than standard herbal medicine, creating longer term effects with very few drops.
Each various item of Spagyric Pharmacopoeia works on various aspects of the multi-dimensional human. For example, Spagyric Essences work primarily with the Etheric Body and Astral Bodies, while Spagyric Tinctures and Elixirs work primarily with the Physical Body.
